Markup Calculator

Calculate selling price, markup percentage, profit per unit, gross margin, and cost share from cost and either target markup or selling price.

Selling price from cost and markup

This markup calculator follows English pricing intent: find selling price from cost and markup percentage, or reverse the calculation from cost and selling price. It also shows profit per unit and gross margin so markup is not confused with margin.

    Gross pricing helper
The calculation does not separately model sales tax, VAT, payment fees, marketplace commissions, discounts, returns, shipping, or overhead. Include those costs before choosing a selling price when they matter.

    Markup, price and margin formulas

Markup uses cost as the base. Margin uses selling price as the base. A 50% markup produces a 33.3% gross margin, not a 50% margin.
