Home Renovation Cost Calculator
Estimate a U.S. home renovation budget from square footage, remodel scope, local cost market, materials share and contingency.
Market multipliers are planning assumptions, not official indexes. If you have a bid, use its $/sq ft price.
Estimate renovation cost per square foot
English remodel-cost searches usually expect a fast budget range: square footage, project scope, local cost market and a contingency. The calculator uses U.S.-style dollars per square foot and splits the result into materials, labor and buffer.
Aft2 is project area and Rateft2 is the selected remodel scope rate.
The default workflow uses a contingency so the estimate is not a bare minimum.
What can change the final bid
- Kitchen, bathroom, structural, plumbing and electrical work can move a project far above a simple finish refresh.
- Permit rules, contractor availability, access, demolition, debris hauling and material grade change the final contract price.
- Square-foot estimates are useful for early planning, but a contractor bid needs a room-by-room scope and specifications.
