Is eGFR the same as creatinine clearance?

No. eGFR is normalized to body surface area and reported as mL/min/1.73 m2. Cockcroft-Gault estimates creatinine clearance in mL/min.

Can one eGFR result diagnose CKD?

No. CKD diagnosis depends on persistence over time, albuminuria or other kidney-damage markers and clinical evaluation.
