Child Height Prediction Calculator
Estimate a child's adult height from current age and height, with an optional mid-parental height cross-check and pediatric growth cautions.
Prediction is not a height percentile
This calculator estimates a possible adult height from the child's current age and height. It is different from a CDC height percentile calculator, which compares the current measurement with children of the same age and sex.
The current-height method divides current height by an age-based percent-of-adult-height reference.
Remaining height is an arithmetic estimate, not a clinical growth forecast.
How to compare methods
| Method | Uses | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Current-height prediction | Age, sex and current height | Very sensitive to puberty timing |
| Mid-parental height | Biological parent heights | Only a broad genetic target range |
| Growth chart percentile | Repeated age/sex measurements | Needs clinical interpretation over time |
